The Strategic Net Zero and International Policy team in the Energy Climate Change and Strategy Division of DCCEEW is seeking to appoint a Senior Policy Officer on a 9-month maternity leave basis, with potential to extend.

The role will suit an enthusiastic and motivated individual with an interest in climate change policy and driving the sustainable transition to a net zero economy.

Our team provides policy advice on climate change issues affecting NSW and Australia. This includes working with the Net Zero Plan Taskforce to inform the new Net Zero Plan to 2035 and engaging with other state/territory jurisdictions to align Australian climate policy where possible. Our team also leads engagement with stakeholders from international jurisdictions, including through the Net Zero Futures Policy Forum and the Under2 Coalition.

The ideal candidate will be friendly and team-oriented, with excellent communication skills and be excited for the challenge of applying their knowledge to help solve a wide range of climate change policy issues.
