About the role

National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for an aspiring or experienced Executive Officer to join a high-performing team leading the delivery of operations across NSW national parks.

As Executive Officer to the Executive Directors for Park Operations, you will deliver high-quality executive support services. Your responsibilities will include providing strategic advice to support informed decision making, pro-actively developing a range of communications and leading projects supporting the organisation’s strategic and operational objectives and championing best practices across the division’s operations. You will also be required to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion, maintaining trust and integrity in all interactions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • extensive experience providing high-quality senior executive support services in a large and complex organisation
  • outstanding organisational skills to efficiently manage multiple tasks, deadlines and priorities
  • strong problem-solving skills to identify issues, analyse challenges and confidently implement effective responses to organisational, operational and governance issues
  • demonstrated experience in project management, including leading project teams to deliver strategic initiatives, identifying project priorities and mitigating risks
  • high-level written and verbal communication skills to prepare, review and deliver a wide range of communications including executive correspondence, briefing notes, reports, speaking points, internal communications, media releases and responses within short timeframes and to a varied audience
  • the ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure and navigate interpersonal dynamics with diplomacy and tact.

 Essential requirements:

  • Extensive experience working in a senior executive support function includes provision of advice on management of various environmental issues at a senior level and provision of high-level executive support.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management including managing project teams to deliver strategic organisational, operational, governance initiatives and identifying project priorities.
