About the Role
At Jenolan Caves, we seek to have visitors connect with our incredible world-heritage site and leave with a desire to protect the environment.
The Senior Finance Officer provides high level business and financial advisory services, including internal budgeting and forecasting, labour analytics, capital reporting and planning, divisional management reporting, business case development and coordination of risk and savings plan. The role also provides high level accounting support services to all operational departments, including the review of all general ledger accounts to ensure consistent reconciliation and consistency with management reporting information, budget and legal requirements.
Since 2019, Jenolan Caves has been subject to a number of natural disasters and business interruptions beyond its control. We are now in the process of re-building with a number of infrastructure projects underway and with a view to re opening to the general public in late 2026. This is a unique opportunity to work in a unique world heritage site and to be part of a dedicated team who care for and maintain this incredible and iconic site.
About You
You’re a dynamic and adaptable professional in developing and preparing monthly financial management and dashboard reports and financial statements in consultation with the Senior Leadership Team.
You thrive on being a member of a team and providing timely, expert financial and accounting information and advice to the Business, Strategy and Finance Manage. Coordinate all funding arrangements and proposals and participate in the preparation of business cases.
By building the confidence and support of stakeholders, clients and peers to manage diverse and frequently urgent and competing business requests and demand deadlines.
Essential requirements:
- Experience in the Visitor Economy is essential, with a preference to those with a background in providing financial support, reporting and analysis in business operations servicing high volume visitation and customer transaction numbers.
- Relevant experience and/or tertiary qualifications in accounting or finance.
- Knowledge of the application of the Government Sector Finance Act 2018, Treasurer's Directions and Australian Accounting Standards, with a broad understanding of relevant Government policies.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting principles and practices
