We are seeking a Data Analyst Visualisation with a passion for turning complex data into engaging and user-centred visual assets. In this role, you will have the opportunity to consult with key users and stakeholders to design and develop dashboards, interactive maps and innovative data visualisation products. You will play a key role in supporting decision-making processes and contribute to the broader goals of the Governance and Insights branch, driving research, reporting, and data storytelling.

 

About this role:

  • Work within a multidisciplinary team of designers, developers and data analysts to gather user requirements and translate them into well scoped, technically robust projects that deliver practical customer driven outcomes.
  • Have a high level of stakeholder engagement capability, verbal communication, data visualisation and documentation skills.
  • Produce user-centred, well designed, accessible, accurate and timely deliverables for internal and external stakeholders to facilitate evidence-informed decision making.
  • Ideally have software development experience or expertise working with large and/or complex data to convey key insights using storytelling approaches and balancing this with appealing design that adheres to design standards.

What you will bring to the role

  • A blend of creativity and technical expertise in data visualisation, with experience in tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail and design, able to transform complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to consult with stakeholders to create visualisations that meet their specific needs.

 

What is an essential requirement:

Tertiary qualifications in design, statistics, business intelligence, data science, or related discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience.
