  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $106,025 - $117,363+ super (Clerk Grade 7/8)

 

We are seeking to appoint Investigations Officers, responsible for conducting and leading investigations into potential breaches of conduct within the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW). This role ensures compliance with conduct and governance requirements and provides expert advice on investigative matters.

 

About You

The Investigations Officer manages investigations into misconduct matters, maladministration and other issues that may require early intervention in respect to the department.

You will support the Manager and Senior Investigations Officer to lead and coordinate multiple investigations, often highly confidential, to ensure effective delivery in a high-pressure work environment, with competing priorities and deadlines and facilitate the engagement of relevant internal and external stakeholders to address sensitive issues and collaborate on initiatives to maintain the integrity of the department. Supporting the implementation of ethical policies across the Department and the mitigation of fraud and corruption by means of detection, prevention, early intervention, data analysis and targeted investigations through Public Interest Disclosures and reports of wrongdoing.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Sound knowledge of, and experience in, the processes of NSW government.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in the conduct and management of formal investigations and investigation teams, as well as evidence gathering and analysis processes.

 

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant field or equivalent work experience in corporate governance, risk and investigations.
