  • Multiple permanent full-time roles at 35 hours per week plus Flextime
  • Sydney, Newcastle or NSW location by negotiation

  • Salary range from $120,859 to $133,183 plus super and leave loading

 

EnergyCo NSW is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure.


About the Opportunity

Our EnergyCo NSW Project Interface and Strategic Coordination branch is currently seeking to appoint multiple Senior Project and Policy Officers to coordinate and manage complex projects for the development of built form, social, economic and environmental infrastructure. These projects are essential for delivering the NSW Government Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap and supporting EnergyCo’s role as Infrastructure Planner of the declared Renewable Energy Zones.

These opportunities are in two different teams within the Project Interface and Strategic Coordination branch:

  • The Strategic Coordination and Interface Management team serves as the primary point of contact for EnergyCo’s interactions with multiple cross-government agencies responsible for delivering projects underpinning the Roadmap. The focus of this role will be:
    • Contributing to the development of high-quality strategic advice
    • Overseeing program governance and proactively managing risk
    • Building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships across various stakeholders
    • Facilitating engagement and consultation to align priorities
    • Conducting stakeholder analysis to understand needs and expectations
    • Identifying opportunities to optimise project development and execution
    • Effectively and efficiently managing emerging issues
  • The Priority Projects team manages the strategic development and delivery of major infrastructure projects which support the construction of Renewable Energy Zones across the State. The focus of this role will be:
    • Effectively delivering project management functions
    • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams within EnergyCo and across Government
    • Facilitating procurement processes, negotiations and approvals
    • Assisting in feasibility studies, due diligence, technical assessments and cost-benefit analyses
    • Identifying and mitigating project risks and challenges
    • Managing stakeholder communications and expectations
    • Preparing project reports and related documentation for various audiences

 

About You

To be successful in the role, you will have demonstrated experience in project and/or policy management, particularly within an infrastructure development or delivery environment, with a track record of achieving project milestones to high quality standards while effectively coordinating, developing and delivering multiple complex and interconnected projects.

You are skilled at overseeing program governance, proactively identifying and managing risks and consulting with stakeholders to align portfolio interdependencies and program deliverables. You anticipate emerging risks and provide timely, accurate advice on complex issues. Your proven ability to collect, analyse and synthesize information from various sources enables you to meet tight deadlines while maintaining composure, confidentiality, and diplomacy.

With a collaborative and pragmatic mindset, you exercise sound judgment to strategically balance and resolve conflicts among competing priorities, policies, and stakeholders. Your strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills allow you to effectively consult and influence decision-makers and key stakeholders, driving action and achieving outcomes which support EnergyCo’s ambitious vision for the State’s energy transition.

You also have experience supporting the provision of high-level policy advice and considered solutions to the Executive, Board, Secretary, Minister’s Office and other key stakeholders in line with broader government policies.

 

Essential Requirements

 •            Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.

Who we are?

The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board, appointed by the Minister for Energy.  EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).

EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend and coordinate generation, storage and network infrastructure projects.
