The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) is currently seeking a strategic leader for the newly created position of Manager, Strategic Audit Services. Working with the Internal Audit, Ethics and Investigations teams you drive strategic projects across the teams.

 

About the role

As the Manager of Strategic Audit Services, you will lead a talented team in delivering high-quality support to committees, offering strategic advice and building strong stakeholder relationships. You will drive initiatives to improve our Secretariat practices.

As the primary contact for the Audit Office of NSW, managing performance audits throughout the Department. You will ensure the highest quality coordination, facilitation and senior stakeholder management.

 

About You

You are a proactive self-starter with a knack for strengthening stakeholder collaborations. You have the ability to interpret contentious issues and provide clear advice on complex Secretariat and NSW Audit Office matters.

You will have a dual role:

  • Deliver high-quality Secretariat services to the Audit and Risk Committees (ARCs) while maintaining strong stakeholder engagement.
  • Manage all aspects of meeting process, including planning, scheduling, and documentation, to ensure timely and quality outcomes.
  • Lead a dedicated team, oversee the preparation of key materials and implement efficient procedures to support Secretariat activities.
  • Facilitate engagements with the NSW Audit Office across the Department.
  • Report on the status of external audits and manage recommendations from various external reports, ensuring that the department meets its commitments and achieves quality outcomes.
  • Establish effective communication with stakeholders, leading strategic projects.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Experience with an audit committee (ARC) or board Secretariat or equivalent
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as Company Secretariat, and/or equivalent relevant experience
