  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $120,859 to $133,183 + super

The role

Our Sector Performance and Innovations team is currently seeking to appoint an Executive Officer Commissions Secretariat to provide executive, secretariat, analytical and project support services to the Commissioners of the Local Government Grants Commission (LGGC) and the Local Government Boundaries Commissions, through the provision of operational and project support, strategic advice and process implementation initiatives to assist the LGGC in the determination of fund distribution and the LGBC in reviewing applications for boundary changes, organising public consultancy forums, reviewing and analysing large volumes of submissions and evidence, preparation of ministerial and cabinet briefs, making recommendations and preparing reports on applications received.

 

This newly created role will see you engage with senior stakeholders in Government, prepare, manage and review the provision of high-level communications and correspondence including briefings, reports, submissions, minutes, agendas, presentations and notes to ensure the comprehensiveness, accuracy, and timeliness of written information.

What you will bring to the role

  • Practical knowledge of the working of local government and its processes.
  • High level of organisational skills with the ability to streamline processes, plan, co-ordinate and implement actions
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve shared goals
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges and adapt to evolving situations.
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes
  • Maintains meticulous attention to detail amidst high-volume workloads, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks and deliverables

 

Essential Requirements

  • Ability to attend Council Premises on site as an when required
