About you

You have strong leadership capabilities and experience in strategic policy and legislative reform. You navigate the policy process with confidence and have demonstrated experience developing evidence-based initiatives that contribute to delivering government objectives. You are a persuasive and inclusive communicator and prioritise working collaboratively in a team environment to achieve outcomes. You are an effective and flexible people leader, adept at providing strategic direction, building a strong team culture and mentoring and managing for performance and development. You have the ability to manage multiple competing priorities while delivering project outcomes.

 

About the role

As a Manager Policy & Reform, you will help lead the development and implementation of a Heritage Strategy for NSW. The Strategy will set a new direction for heritage regulation, conservation and celebration in NSW.

You will provide high quality strategic policy, budget and legislative advice on projects and issues. You will manage complex research and analysis for policy development, coordination, implementation and review. You will identify emerging issues and develop robust and evidence-based solutions.

The Policy and Reform team provides strategic policy support for the Minister for Heritage, senior executive and the Heritage Council. The team undertakes legislative and regulatory reform, budget bids and strategic research and analysis to identify and progress better ways to do the business of Heritage NSW.

 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Extensive experience in managing complex strategic and/or operational policy issues in heritage, Aboriginal cultural heritage or another field involving multiple external and internal stakeholders to deliver quality results.
  • Tertiary qualifications in public sector administration, policy, heritage, archaeology, architecture or related discipline and/or equivalent experience in the successful implementation of public sector directives, initiatives and policies.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading strategic or operational policy development, review and implementation.
