  • We are currently seeking a Senior Natural Resource Management Officer to join the team at Crown Lands
  • 2 x Ongoing Full-Time opportunities
  • Office location: located in Maitland with some travel across the Hunter region required
  • Departmental Officer Grade 5/6, salary relative to experience and ranges from $93,295 - $102,941 + super + annual leave loading + flex leave

The role

In the role of Senior Natural Resource Management Officer, you will undertake environmental, planning, natural resource, and land management activities to achieve government priorities in the management of Crown land.

 

Some key elements of your role will be to:

  • Provide appropriately balanced and timely advice, recommendations, and briefings on environmental, planning, hazard, compliance and land management issues
  • Interpret and apply a broad range of environmental and planning legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Undertake land administration functions relating to Crown tenures, roads, and reserves, incorporating environmental assessment and review of proposals
  • Assisting volunteer and Council Crown Land Managers in the use and occupation of Crown land consistent with the Crown Lands State Strategic Plan
  • Organise hazard reduction activities to mitigate the public liability risk
  • Assist in maintaining the integrity of land information data

 

Work as part of a collaborative team to meet the agencies business requirements and grow your exposure to diverse issues and challenges across the Hunter Region. No two days will be the same!

What you will bring to the role

  • Solid time management and organisational skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Enjoys autonomy and demonstrates proficiency in working independently, taking initiative, and making decisions

 

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in an environmental science, natural resource, planning or other relevant field and/or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
  • Current drivers’ licence and willingness to travel
