  • Salary from $145,378 to $168,130 plus super and leave loading

 

EnergyCo NSW is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure.

 

 

About the Opportunity

Our EnergyCo NSW Project Commercial team is currently seeking to fill multiple Manager Project Commercial roles to manage commercial aspects of the Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) and other priority projects for the procurement of electricity transmission, generation and other assets. The roles manage development and implementation of commercial frameworks to ensure appropriate risk allocation, value for money for energy consumers, and contractual arrangements that realise the objectives of the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap and its enabling legislation, the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act.

EnergyCo’s Project Commercial Branch oversees the development and delivery of commercial frameworks and provides advice and leadership to project teams and other stakeholders to support efficient and innovative delivery. The Branch’s work caters for the individual requirements of particular projects while ensuring consistency of approach across EnergyCo’s portfolio of projects. The Manager Project Commercial works closely with the Director, Project Commercial and project teams to implement commercial, financial and regulatory strategies and partnerships.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have strong commercial acumen and experience in the design and/or implementation of commercial arrangements for major infrastructure projects.

You will have well-developed interpersonal skills to collaborate and build strong relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, as well as strong influencing and negotiation skills and capability to prioritise and drive outcomes under pressure.

You bring a results-driven approach and you are comfortable operating in a multi-disciplinary environment. Your background may be in a commercial, financial, project development, economic regulation, legal, investment management, or technical field.

With proven experience developing commercial strategies for large scale infrastructure projects in a complex environment, you have the demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement independently in ambiguous situations.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in economics, finance, engineering, or other relevant discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience.

Who we are?

The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board, appointed by the Minister for Energy.  EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).

EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend and coordinate generation, storage and network infrastructure projects.
