The Role

Greater Sydney Parklands (GSP) is offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager, Strategy and Design. This role is responsible for developing and leading the preparation and implementation of strategies, masterplans, design frameworks, and strategic projects to drive strategy and deliver on capital programs and projects in line with GSP objectives.

Creating world-class public spaces requires vision, collaboration, and expert project management. In this role, you will:

  • Provide expert advice and collaborate with stakeholders on planning, design, and development projects.
  • Undertake planning, urban design, strategy, and design processes.
  • Project manage the delivery of projects and programs from inception, through design phases
  • Engage and communicate with various boards, government agencies, stakeholders, and the community.
  • Lead consultants, contractors, and internal staff in a manner that fosters a positive, collaborative team environment.
  • Lead ongoing business development and system improvements.

What You Will Bring to the Role

  • Proven senior-level experience in leading the delivery of strategic plans, masterplans, design concepts, and design documentation.
  • Track record of successfully managing consultants and contractors to achieve high-quality results while driving complex projects in fast-paced, challenging environments.
  • Background in design and project management processes.
  • Strong visual and verbal communication skills to support the delivery of high-quality project outcomes.
  • Highly motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
  • Strong time management skills to manage competing priorities and keep projects on track to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative mindset to engage with and lead diverse stakeholders and community groups to achieve the organization’s goals.

What is an essential requirement:

  • Degree qualification or higher in landscape architecture, urban design, architecture, or other relevant discipline.
  • Project management experience and the ability to balance a high-volume workload
  • Current Australian driver’s license and ability to travel to and attend work at any site within the GSP portfolio.
  • Ability to work outside of normal working hours and on weekends if required.
