- Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $105,924 to $117,031 plus super and leave loading
The Restoration Science Team within the Conservation and Restoration Science Branch of the Science, Economics and Insights Division is currently seeking a Scientist to provide technical, scientific, and analytical support and guidance for ecological science programs.
About You
You will provide technical, scientific, and analytical support for the implementation of ecological science and research, specifically to support improved management decisions and policies for terrestrial ecological restoration in NSW. You will have a proven track record in terrestrial ecology and demonstrated experience evaluating the outcomes of conservation interventions. You will be working in a small and productive team undertaking multi-disciplinary science with multiple and diverse government and non-government partners. You will contribute to restoration science supporting the Cumberland Plain Conservation Plan Research Strategy and the development of a NSW landscape restoration framework.
Key knowledge and experience:
- Knowledge and experience in terrestrial restoration science and research
- Experience designing and implementing vegetation and/or soil monitoring programs
- Experience in data management
- Demonstrated experience working in collaborative projects with diverse partners and stakeholders
- Experience statistical data visualization and analysis, preferably using R
- Experience communicating science and research to a range of audiences
Essential requirements:
- Relevant tertiary scientific qualifications
- Driver’s license and willingness to undertake fieldwork
Desired skills:
- Basic map preparation skills in ArcGIS
