  • Salary ranges from $110,266.00 to $122,058.00 + super + leave loading

 

Our Water Economics Advisory team is currently seeking to appoint an Economist to undertake robust, economic research and analysis to support water policy, planning and management in NSW. Our team is committed to helping solve the state’s most pressing water-related challenges through informed decision-making and we are looking for a talented economist to join us in this mission. In this role you will contribute to:

  • Developing and applying economic analysis methods to understand trade-offs between environmental, social, economic and cultural water outcomes
  • High quality business cases, including cost-benefit analysis
  • Providing economic advice to support water policy development
  • Delivery and implementation of a strategically significant pricing proposal to secure sustainable funding for delivery of water planning and management services in NSW

 

About You

You are a dynamic and analytical economist with a background in economic analysis, a passion for solving complex problems, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences. You’ll be working within some tight timeframes, so you know how to manage competing priorities well. This is a broad role, so you’ll often be working across different teams and agencies at any one time. This will allow you to expand your skills as a regulatory and water economist.

Ideal demonstrated experience and knowledge:

  • Ability to undertake sound quantitative and qualitative economic analysis
  • Understanding of regulatory and/or natural resource economics is useful

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in economics, resource economics or similar discipline and/or equivalent experience
