Our Aboriginal Land Strategy team is seeking a Policy and Project Officer to support change and contribute expertise in this supportive team. The role will assist efforts to deliver reform policies and projects related to Crown Lands’ work with Community in land rights, native title, and land management in NSW.

The role
The Policy and Project Officer contributes to the provision of strategic policy advice to shape land rights and native title reforms, and undertakes and provides support for the development and implementation of policies and projects.
The role will be part of the Aboriginal Land Strategy division’s Strategic Policy and Projects team. The role involves preparing advice in the form of briefs, policy and discussion papers to respond to Departmental, Ministerial or Cabinet needs, and fostering productive collaborative relationships with Aboriginal stakeholder groups, internal Departmental teams, other Government agencies, and peak body representatives. One of the key challenges of the role will be navigating sensitive issues that arise in native title and land rights discussions and ensuring that the advice provided addresses these complexities while supporting government and Community objectives.
