Help lead the implementation of the Network Infrastructure Strategy to providing 20 year blueprint for the transformation of the NSW electricity system

 

  • Leadership role driving EnergyCo’s Planning & Communities programs
  • Ongoing position, based in Sydney or within the five Renewable Energy Zone regions, by negotiation.
  • Band 1 Senior Executive Position | TRP commencing from $218,965

 

EnergyCo NSW is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure.


About the Opportunity


The Director Community Benefits and Outcomes leads delivery of benefits and legacy outcomes to regional communities across EnergyCo’s Renewable Energy Zones (REZ), including advocating for First Nations communities through three focus areas: Community and Employment Benefits, Regional Development, and Coordination.

 

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Planning & Communities and will play a key role in shaping EnergyCo’s delivery of initiatives and benefit payments to support and enhance the Roadmap and REZ program outcomes. A fundamental component of this role will include the delivery of social an economic outcomes to REZ communities.

 

About You

 

To be successful in this position you will be an experienced people leader with a strong track record in successful delivery of priority policies and programs in a complex regulatory or legislative environment such as government.

Utilise your proven track record in successful design, implementation and maintenance of programs, such as grants programs, to meet the needs of the communities with up to $1 billion of grant programs support available to enhance the NSW Government's Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap and REZ delivery outcomes.

Your strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills will also see you deliver success in this critical position that helps position EnergyCo to meet the needs of the communities in NSW. You utilise your collaboration skills to form positive partnerships with both government agencies and stakeholders to deliver outcomes.

 

Being a strategic thinker and a collaborator, your experience and comprehensive understanding of the complexity of issues impacting the energy industry to enable EnergyCo to deliver its organisational goals.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Economic Development, Business, Management or Finance, or equivalent relevant experience.

Who we are?

 

The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board, appointed by the Minister for Energy.  EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).

 

EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend and coordinate generation, storage and network infrastructure projects.

 

We acknowledge the ongoing custodial responsibilities of the Aboriginal peoples of NSW to care for Country and water and are committed to establishing meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal peoples in the management of the environment.
