The role

In this senior role, you’ll play a key part in delivering major transmission and renewable energy projects across NSW. From reviewing post-approval documentation to advising on construction-phase environmental management, the focus is on keeping projects moving while maintaining strong environmental safeguards. The role also involves interpreting complex management plans, coordinating feedback, and preparing formal responses on behalf of the Planning Secretary.

 

Success relies on a sharp eye for detail, confident communication, and a strong commitment to outcomes that benefit both the environment and the community. Working across internal teams and with external stakeholders, you’ll help ensure high standards are upheld throughout the delivery phase of these critical infrastructure projects.

What you will bring to the role

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex issues as they arise and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Experience in reviewing and interpreting technical environmental documentation, including management plans and post-approval submissions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft formal correspondence and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks, particularly the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks and priorities to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards.

 

What is an essential requirement:

  • Degree qualification in Planning or a related discipline.
