About us
Placemaking NSW is responsible for managing and caring for some of Sydney’s most iconic harbourside venues and locations, including The Rocks, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour and White Bay Power Station. We also lead the planning and delivery of the Bays West Urban Renewal Precinct, a state significant project that will bring new homes, jobs, and public spaces to 77 hectares of government-owned land just 2 kilometres from Sydney's CBD. 


The role
You’ll play a key role in shaping how people connect with some of Sydney’s most iconic precincts, including The Rocks, Darling Harbour, Barangaroo and the White Bay Power Station. From developing bold campaign strategies to collaborating with creative agencies and partners, this role is all about creating stand-out marketing that reflect our brand and drive real outcomes.

It’s a fast-paced, hands-on role where you’ll balance multiple projects and deadlines, respond quickly to shifting priorities, and bring creative ideas to life. You’ll need great stakeholder relationships, strong attention to detail, and a real passion for delivering work that makes an impact.

What you will bring to the role
You’re a proactive marketer with a passion for placemaking, activations and retail. With strong digital skills across SEM, SEO, web, email and social media, you know how to deliver integrated campaigns that connect with audiences.

You thrive in fast-paced environments, juggling multiple projects with ease, and are comfortable working across Sydney’s key precincts, with regular travel to sites as needed.


What is an essential requirement:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or relevant industry experience.
  • Willingness to travel regularly or as needed within the Sydney greater metropolitan region.
