The role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Event Professional to join the Events and Venues team at the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney.
You will be assisting clients to plan, curate and produce memorable experiences, events and productions across the Royal Botanic Garden and Domain. You will be assisting events including those delivered in-house, such as New Years Eve, Calyx exhibitions and hallmark events across our Botanic Gardens and Domain venues, plus facilitation and sales of high impact, third-party events.
You will be assisting our clients to create unforgettable experiences across the Botanic Garden and Domain as well as playing a key role in driving venue hire sales by developing and implementing effective event sales and business development strategies.

What you will bring to the role
You are an experienced event professional, with proven expertise in event sales, planning and coordination. You bring:
- Experience working closely with industry professionals to plan and coordinate the operational components of outdoor events in a public space with complex site set-up requirements.
- Skills in event sales, budgeting, theming, production and risk management
- Strong project management skills with the ability to develop, review and implement comprehensive event plans.
- Proven work experience delivering events in accordance with safe event practices and work health and safety legislation.
- Exceptional collaborative skills to work effectively with clients, customers, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Outstanding customer relationship management, including maintaining proactive working relationships with all stakeholders to balance competing needs and achieve strategic and operational objectives.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset, with a positive and can-do attitude to work as part of a high performing team.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
What is an essential requirement:
- Ability to work after hours during holiday periods and on weekends, as required.
- Current Australian Drivers’ License.
