The role
We are seeking a dynamic Venue Operations Coordinator to plan and coordinate the delivery of diverse events, including third-party exhibitions at the newly opened Garden Gallery, conferencing and meeting bookings at the Gadi Seminar Rooms, corporate and stakeholder events at the higher impact lawns, and hallmark events across our Botanic Gardens and Domain venues. This role is crucial in achieving our revenue targets, strategic goals, and fostering positive connections and engagement with our beautiful gardens.

What you will bring to the role
You are an experienced professional in event venue operations, with proven expertise in event planning and coordination. You bring:
- Experience in successfully operating event venues, conferencing / meeting rooms, or exhibition spaces with competing timelines.
- Proven experience in operating and maintaining AV systems.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to develop, review and implement comprehensive event and risk management plans.
- Proven work experience delivering events in accordance with safe event practices and work health and safety legislation.
- Experience working closely with industry professionals to plan and coordinate the operational components of outdoor events in a public space with complex site set-up requirements.
- Excellent collaborative skills to work effectively with clients, customers, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset, with a positive and can-do attitude to working as part of a high performing team
- Exceptional attention to detail & customer service skills
- Availability to work on-site up to 5 days per week during peak periods
What is an essential requirement:
- Ability to work outside of normal working hours and on weekends when required.
