The role
Our Sector Performance team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Performance Analyst to undertake reviews and analysis of councils’ short and long term performance, contribute to the implementation of performance measurement frameworks and ensure that councils comply with relevant statutory requirements. 

In the role as a Senior Performance Analyst, you’ll be diving into the performance of local councils, with an emphasis on financial performance; analysing trends, identifying risks, and helping shape smarter, more sustainable outcomes for communities across NSW. You’ll be part of a team that ensures councils are not only meeting their obligations but also continuously improving how they serve the public.

It’s a dynamic environment where you’ll need to balance multiple priorities, navigate complex legislation, and provide clear, evidence-based advice to both internal and external stakeholders. About You:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, analyse, and interpret project and financial data.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (e.g. Excel)
  • Effective communication skills-both written and verbal.
  • Solid time management and organisational skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
