If you are passionate about preserving and enhancing the tree estate in Sydney's iconic urban parks and open spaces, we have a unique opportunity for you. Greater Sydney Parklands is a city-wide agency dedicated to the growth and preservation of parklands and is seeking a dedicated Tree Services Manager to join our team. As the manager of Tree Services, you be responsible for developing, leading and coordinating the arboriculture program for Greater Sydney Parklands.


The role
As Manager Tree Services, you’ll develop and lead the arboriculture program, focusing on industry best practice to maintain and expand a healthy, diverse urban tree estate. Your role involves balancing various environmental, social, and heritage factors to achieve optimum outcomes for our tree population by utilising contemporary strategies and delivering operational excellence. You will manage tree maintenance contracts, develop succession planning and planting programs, implement safety and sustainability protocols, and provide expert advice on tree asset management, all while aligning with strategic urban and park development goals.


Current Projects
A number of exciting projects which the Manager Tree Services will lead are being developed and include -

  • A Tree Management Plan for Callan Park,
  • an extensive tree planting program throughout WSP,
  • succession planning for Parramatta Park

What is an essential requirement:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Arboriculture or related discipline and/or relevant experience.
  • Ability to be contacted and work outside of normal bandwidth hours and on weekends if required.
  • Current Driver’s license and the ability to travel to attend work at any site within the GSP portfolio as directed.
