  • Senior Team Leader Regional Conservation & Senior Team Leader Planning (Environment Officer Class 12)
  • 2 x Ongoing full-time (35 hours per week) opportunities
  • Office location is Dubbo- other NSW Office locations may be considered by negotiation
  • Hybrid office and work from home model
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $148,230 to $162,682 + super

 

Our Regional Delivery team is currently seeking to appoint two Senior Team Leaders to lead teams to deliver improved environmental and conservation outcomes through the planning and assessment system by engaging across the Department and government and applying contemporary planning and assessment tools.

We are seeking experienced leaders to guide multidisciplinary teams in delivering accurate and timely advice on environmental planning and assessment matters. This role involves providing strategic counsel to the Minister, Executive, and consent authorities to facilitate improved environmental and conservation outcomes.

This position offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful environmental and conservation outcomes and sustainable development across New South Wales.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Hold tertiary qualifications in environmental science, environmental planning, urban planning, or a related discipline.
  • Possess extensive experience in environmental planning and assessment within NSW, with a strong understanding of the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and associated regulations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, delivering timely and accurate advice on complex planning matters.
  • Exhibit high-level written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing comprehensive reports, briefing notes, and ministerial correspondence on sensitive issues.
  • Show proficiency in leading stakeholder engagement, with a track record of effectively negotiating and influencing outcomes with government agencies, developers, and community groups.
  • Display strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to identify solutions to contentious planning issues within legislative frameworks.
  • Have experience implementing effective management systems to handle heavy workloads in complex environments, ensuring senior management is appropriately briefed.
  • Be committed to continuous improvement and staying abreast of current environmental and sustainability issues affecting NSW communities.
