  • Full-time roles - 35 hours per week + FlexTime 
  • Location specific to any Southern NSW/Riverina/Murray office (subject to availability) - hybrid working with flexible working arrangements available
  • Salary ranges from $110,266.00 to $122,058.00 + super + leave loading

 

The Water Group is seeking to appoint 2x Communications and Engagement Advisors to support the delivery of communications and engagement activities for the NSW Government’s Reconnecting River Country Program and various other priority programs and projects.

With a strong focus on stakeholder and community engagement, the role supports the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of communications and engagement strategies and activities for the program.

Working within the Water Group’s Communications, Media and Engagement branch, the roles work closely with a range of other teams in the department to help ensure a seamless and coordinated approach to external communications and engagement activities. The roles will go to December 2026 and will be based in the southern NSW/Riverina region. Travel throughout the region will be required (approximately 2-3 times per month).

About You

We are seeking candidates with demonstrated experience and knowledge in:

  • Supporting the development and delivery of communication and engagement activities (with a strong focus on stakeholder and community engagement) in support of sensitive and complex programs and policies, including stakeholder identification and mapping and event coordination of town hall meetings, consultation forums, face-to-face meetings and online engagements  
  • Identifying emerging stakeholder matters/issues and quickly synthesising information across multiple competing projects
  • Supporting the management of external stakeholder information by updating data in our Customer Relationship Management system and producing reports
  • Advising, and working closely with, internal teams to deliver positive communications and engagement outcomes in-line with departmental policies and procedures
  • Supporting the development of communication materials to execute over a range of channels when required

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications/engagement or another related discipline and/or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Drivers licence
  • Willingness to travel to regional and metro areas across NSW
  • Willingness to undertake International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) training.
