About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has an exciting opportunity for multiple Visitor Service Support Assistants to join a dynamic and close-knit team based at the Kosciuszko National Park entrance stations on Alpine Way and Kosciuszko Road.
The Visitor Service Support Assistant provides a wide range of administrative and customer service duties to support the day-to-day operations of the Visitor Entrance Stations. Your duties will include but not limited to:
- Collecting Park Use Fees,
- Providing relevant up to date visitor information
- Customer services
- Park compliance administrative duties
As a Visitor Service Support Assistant, you will help provide a welcoming environment and high-quality experience for visitors of the beautiful Kosciuszko National Park.
About You
As a Visitor Service Support Assistant, you are adept at providing excellent customer service for visitors, responding to their needs in a professional, courteous and friendly manner, and managing competing priorities in a high-volume environment. Your excellent communication skills and sound people and diplomatic skills will help you excel in this role.
Essential Requirements
- Good oral communication, and customer service skills with experience dealing with customer inquiries and the ability to manage such inquiries in a manner that addresses customer’s concerns.
- Capacity and willingness to undertake enforcement duties associated with the park use fee system and Departmental / NPWS Regulations, with an ability to work unsupervised and adapt to competing priorities
- Basic computer skills and the ability to operate a two-way radio.
- This role also requires a current manual driver’s licence. The holder of this role will be required to wear an NPWS uniform. This role may also involve regular evening and weekend work. This is a shift-based position, under the Crown Employees (Public Service)
