This role plays a critical part in delivering biodiversity conservation outcomes across regional NSW by providing expert technical advice and contributing to the implementation of key programs, projects, and regulatory actions.
The Senior Regional Biodiversity Conservation Officer conducts biodiversity assessments, supports enforcement under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016, and engages with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to guide decisions on environmental planning, threatened species management, and ecological impact assessments.
About You
You are an experienced environmental professional with deep technical expertise in biodiversity conservation, capable of delivering strategic advice and practical solutions across a wide range of ecological issues. Your background includes conducting biodiversity assessments, interpreting legislation and engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders including government agencies, landholders, and Aboriginal communities.
You thrive in multidisciplinary teams, manage complex conservation projects with independence, and provide plain-English guidance on environmental risks and assessments. You bring resilience, integrity, and a collaborative approach to delivering impactful, science-based outcomes for threatened species and natural resource management in NSW.
