  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $145,378 to $168,130 + super

 

The Water Group is currently seeking to appoint a Manager Operations Support in a full-time fixed term capacity to 31 December 2026, with possibility of extension based on program funding.

The Water Group leads the NSW Government in providing confidence to communities and stakeholders with the transparent stewardship of water resources, provision of services and reforms that support sustainable and healthy environments, economies and societies across NSW.

About You

You are a strategic thinker and collaborative leader with a passion for sharing complex, long-term environmental programs. With a strong understanding of NSW government water management policy, finding frameworks and stakeholder dynamics, you bring clarity and direction to multifaceted planning efforts. You have a strong ability to navigate highly complex and diverse inputs and communicate these concepts to a range of audiences including to executives and government partners.

In this role, you will lead the strategic planning and program design for future phases of the Reconnecting River Country Program (RRCP) in the Murrumbidgee. You will coordinate cross-functional teams to assess priorities, delivery models, and resource needs, ensuring that planning is grounded in robust governance, informed by lessons learned, and aligned with program policy approaches, legislative and regulatory frameworks.

Your strengths lie in building strong relationships across government, including legal and policy. You are adept at managing risk, driving continuous improvement and preparing high-quality strategic documentation and evidence-based decision-making.

Success in this role requires exceptional communication and relationship management skills, particularly with regional government agencies, local councils, and community stakeholders. You will play a critical role informing milestone implementation within project funding agreements and ensuring engagement efforts are inclusive, transparent, and effective in building trust and support.
