About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Project Officer role to maintain the Environmental Management System (EMS) ISO 14001 Certification for the NPWS Perisher Team and work towards meeting the Minimum Environmental Performance Standards (MEPS) set out in the NPWS Alpine Region EMS Framework.
The Project Officer EMS is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the NPWS Perisher Team EMS including document control, document review, monitoring, checking processes and identifying corrective actions, and progress towards continuous improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a high performing team to support the achievement of organisational objectives.
About You
As a Project Officer EMS you are adept at managing competing priorities and working collaboratively with inter-connected teams. Ideally, you have exposure to high-volume work within a large complex organisation or similar and have a passion for achieving outcomes in a changing and diverse work environment.
You are adept at problem solving, enjoy handling diverse and complex data, and are enthusiastic about learning and applying technological solutions.
You’ll also be highly motivated and an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across a range of stakeholders both in person and through virtual networks. You thrive being a team player who is proactive and demonstrates initiative at every opportunity.
This role is expected to work in a remote location, that can experience difficult climatic conditions in winter, with blizzards and/or heavy snow fall.
Essential Requirements –
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in project management or environmental management systems.
- Experience in development and delivery of projects, including the development of project plans, monitoring of project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration.
