The role

 

Step into a pivotal role where your expertise in financial systems and data governance supports one of NSW's leading government departments. As a Finance Data Assurance Officer, you will contribute directly to the integrity and reliability of finance data, supporting critical decision-making and operational efficiency. You will help shape and maintain governance practices, improve system processes, and guide internal teams on best practices within finance.

 

This role offers more than just data maintenance — you will work collaboratively with stakeholders, undertake testing, review and updates of processes and controls, support training initiatives, and help ensure that financial data aligns with the Department’s goals for transparency, accuracy, and accountability. What you will bring to the role:

 

  • Proven ability to juggle operational tasks and project support while meeting deadlines and quality standards
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills to manage expectations and communicate clearly across teams and vendors
  • Attention to detail with the capability to ensure accurate, complete, and compliant financial data
  • Experience with financial systems, data governance frameworks, or project management tools
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to resolve issues and offer practical solutions
  • Proactive and motivated attitude, with a commitment to continuous learning and performance improvement
  • Intermediate-level capability in problem-solving, accountability, finance, and technology use
