- Fulltime role at 35 hours per week plus FlexTime
- Temporary opportunity up to October 2028
- Sydney or Newcastle location with hybrid working from home and office supported
- Salary range from $129,464 to $142,665 plus super and leave loading
EnergyCo NSW is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure.
About the Opportunity
Our EnergyCo NSW Project Delivery team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Project and Policy Officer to coordinate and manage complex projects that shape strategic policy, legislative advice, and infrastructure delivery across the energy sector. These projects are essential for delivering the NSW Government Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap and supporting EnergyCo’s role as Infrastructure Planner of the declared Renewable Energy Zones.
The Project Delivery team manages the strategic development and delivery of major enabling infrastructure projects which support the construction of Renewable Energy Zones across the State.
This role manages all stages of project planning and delivery, coordinating across technical workstreams and engaging stakeholders to achieve high-impact outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
- delivering core project management functions
- collaborating with multidisciplinary teams within EnergyCo and across government
- monitoring and reporting against project budgets and business plans
- facilitating procurement processes, negotiations, and approvals
- supporting feasibility studies, due diligence, technical assessments, and cost-benefit analyses
- analysing regulatory frameworks and contributing to intergovernmental reforms
- identifying and mitigating project risks
- preparing briefings, reports, and documentation to support evidence-based decision-making in a dynamic environment.
About You
You’re a collaborative and adaptable professional with strong experience delivering complex projects and policy initiatives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. You are comfortable working across diverse technical teams with shifting priorities and you bring a hands-on approach to your work. Your experience with project delivery includes managing competing deadlines, coordinating inputs, and maintaining strong project controls. Your organisational skills are a standout, with proven ability to manage documentation, your time and resources effectively. Experience in contract management or service provider procurement is an advantage.
You bring sharp problem-solving skills and sound judgment on complex challenges, using evidence and strategic thinking to assess risks, shape options, and deliver practical, forward-thinking solutions. Confident and credible with senior stakeholders, you know how to influence outcomes and drive progress. With a strong grasp of government processes, regulatory frameworks and community expectations, you’re able to provide clear, high-impact advice on policy and project issues that matter.

Who we are?
The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board, appointed by the Minister for Energy. EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).
EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend and coordinate generation, storage and network infrastructure projects.
