  • Salary relative to experience and ranges from $99,938 to $110,271 + super



The role
In this role, you'll lead the team of Site Rangers, ensuring a seamless visitor experience while maintaining the safety and security of the grounds at the Royal Botanic Gardens. You'll manage day-to-day operations, including overseeing site safety, security, and compliance while building strong relationships with internal teams, volunteers, and external stakeholders.

You'll handle the challenges of balancing multiple priorities, from managing large crowds during major events to ensuring compliance with garden regulations. Your leadership and proactive approach will help maintain a positive visitor experience and safeguard the garden's assets and reputation.

What you will bring to the role

  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining key computerised systems to support site operations effectively.
  • A friendly, customer-focused approach, with a strong commitment to the organisation's values and ethics in every interaction.
  • The ability to handle public interactions with discretion, finding solutions that benefit both visitors and the organisation.
  • A proactive mindset to ensure the safety and security of assets, including living collections, with the autonomy to make decisions confidently


What is an essential requirement:

  • Current NSW Security Licence Class 1A/C.
  • Current drivers’ licence (with ability to operate manual vehicles).
  • Current First Aid (HLTAID003) qualification or equivalent.
  • Current RSA
  • Current White Card NSW
  • Current Blue Card – Traffic Control
  • Current Yellow Card – Implement Traffic Control Plans
  • Ability to provide site Rangers with support and advise on weekends and outside of normal working hours.
  • Ability to travel to and attend work at any site within the RBGDT portfolio as directed
