The role
The Commercial Development & Management team within PDNSW are seeking a Development Officer to support the development, project management and delivery of commercial fitout and workplace projects. The Commercial Development & Management team delivers consistent, efficient, flexible, agile and dynamic workplaces across the whole of Government.
In this role you will support the team to provide optimal project outcomes and to deliver commercial workplace projects. The role will provide exposure and experience working on a range of projects from inception to delivery management. Projects typically involve lease negotiations, stakeholder engagement, budget management, consultant procurement, design including environmentally sustainable design, planning approvals, construction procurement, delivery management and defects close out.
You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, technical consultants across various disciplines and external contractors. From managing project documentation and performance reporting to supporting financial tracking and compliance, your contribution will help ensure projects are delivered efficiently and aligned with departmental objectives.

What you will bring to the role
- Project coordination and support experience, ideally within property, infrastructure, or development environments, including managing documentation, tracking milestones, and supporting reporting and financial processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working collaboratively across internal teams and external stakeholders across a variety of disciplines.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and solve problems proactively, demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and resilience in a fast-paced project environment.
- Experience in contract management and procurement processes, including coordinating service providers and supporting effective purchasing and performance monitoring.
- Construction or fit-out experience is advantageous.
