About the role 

As a Senior Procurement Officer at the Office of Sport, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-value procurement outcomes that support the agency’s strategic goals. You will partner with stakeholders across the organisation to plan, develop, source, and manage procurement arrangements that are efficient, transparent, and aligned with government policy. Your work will directly contribute to the delivery of sport and active recreation programs that create healthier communities and a stronger NSW. 

This is a dynamic and influential role where you’ll lead sourcing activities, manage supplier relationships, and provide expert advice to build procurement capability across the agency. You’ll also be responsible for identifying and mitigating procurement risks, ensuring compliance, and supporting continuous improvement in procurement practices. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across diverse projects and categories, with a strong focus on collaboration, innovation, and delivering value for money.

About you 

  • You bring a strategic and analytical mindset, with demonstrated experience in delivering high-quality procurement services—ideally within a public sector environment. 

  • You have strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, enabling you to lead complex sourcing activities and build effective supplier relationships. 

  • You are confident in providing expert advice and guidance, with a deep understanding of procurement legislation, policy, and risk management practices. 

  • You demonstrate integrity, resilience, and a commitment to continuous improvement, with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive value-for-money outcomes

    Provide a specific example drawn from your professional experience that demonstrates how you managed client expectations and balanced competing priorities.
