The role

Do you want to be part of a mission-driven team shaping land use across NSW and work on high-impact projects that deliver real value to communities?

 

As a Project Officer Strategic Programs and Acquisitions, you’ll play a pivotal role in assessing and assuring proposed Crown land sales in accordance with the Crown Land Management Act 2016. Your work will directly contribute to the responsible divestment of land from the Crown Estate, enabling sustainable development, community benefit, and effective land stewardship.

 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Lead and deliver land sale and divestment projects within defined timeframes
  • Prepare comprehensive assessments for delegated decision-makers under the Act
  • Coordinate acquisition, sale, and vesting initiatives across diverse portfolios
  • Provide expert advice on complex land status, statutory divestment, and land sales
  • Manage internal and external service providers across planning, valuation, legal, and marketing functions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including government agencies, local councils, industry, and community groups
  • Maintain accurate databases, manage project finances, and finalise Crown land accounts
  • Represent the department in forums, committees, and cross-functional teams

What you will bring to the role

  • Proven experience in land management, property divestment, or government asset disposal
  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret legislation and policy
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and project coordination capabilities
  • Commercial acumen and understanding of valuation, planning, and legal frameworks
  • High attention to detail and proficiency in financial and data management systems
