The role

The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure is seeking a System Administrator to provide vital technical support and system administration across our ICT environment. In this role, you’ll ensure our systems are available, secure, and performing at their best, while assisting staff with day-to-day technical needs. You’ll be responsible for maintaining system integrity, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth operations that enable our teams to deliver essential services to the community.

 

You’ll also play a key part in monitoring system access and performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting compliance with change management processes. Collaboration will be central to your work, as you partner with internal teams and external providers to deliver timely support and long-term solutions. Experience with Microsoft 365 and Copilot administration will be highly regarded, as you help us drive digital transformation and enhance productivity across the organisation.

What you will bring to the role

  • Proven ability to provide quality services and advice to multiple business areas, even under tight deadlines and heavy workloads.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to navigate the complexities of a public sector organisation and maintain effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience identifying opportunities and resolving complex issues across diverse platforms and technologies.
  • Demonstrated drive and motivation, with a commitment to continuous learning, self-improvement, and keeping up to date with contemporary practices.
  • Customer-focused approach, delivering positive experiences and resolving complex customer needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical solutions and contribute to business process improvements.
  • Proficiency in using and managing a broad range of technologies, including Microsoft 365 Administration, and ensuring compliance with cyber security and technology policies.

 

What is an essential requirement:

  • Relevant industry certification for ICT systems, platforms and or services or equivalent experience
