About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Team Leader AJM - Aboriginal Targeted to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.

This is a targeted role under GSE Rule 26 and Aboriginal people are encouraged to apply.

The Team Leader, Aboriginal Joint Management leads a small team that supports the delivery of joint management programs across NSW national parks. The role is responsible for planning and coordinating projects, providing advice and ensuring the agency meets its commitments under Aboriginal joint management agreements. A key focus is building strong relationships with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders, supporting effective governance and planning, and guiding the team to deliver high-quality outcomes that respect Aboriginal culture and values.

About You
You’re a proven leader who knows how to bring together multi-skilled and geographically dispersed teams to deliver results. With strong project management and problem-solving skills, you thrive under pressure, juggle priorities with ease and can keep your team focused and motivated.

You’ve built trusted relationships with Aboriginal communities and understand the importance of cultural context and respectful engagement. Experience in Aboriginal joint management or native title agreements is a bonus - backed by your knowledge of legislation, policy and governance. You’re confident making clear decisions and providing advice that makes a real difference!

Essential Requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience.
  • Ability to undertake frequent travel within NSW.
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
