The role
Are you a detail-oriented project professional who thrives in a collaborative environment? As a Project Officer in the PMO team at Botanic Gardens of Sydney, you’ll support the delivery of strategic and operational projects across our iconic garden sites. From planning and reporting to procurement and vendor coordination, you’ll help ensure projects run smoothly, on time, and within budget.
This hybrid role offers flexibility while ensuring strong on-site collaboration. You'll work at least three days per week in an approved Botanic Gardens office— our offices are located within the beautiful gardens at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan, and Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah.

Project Officer PMO
What you will bring to the role
- Project management experience in coordinating multiple tasks under pressure
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities independently
- Confidence in using Microsoft Office 365 and systems like CM10 (TRIM) for document tracking
- Experience with procurement processes and contract types (e.g. MW21, GC21)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
- Experience with procurement activities in accordance with One Procure and MyWorkZone
What is an essential requirement:
- Project Management Qualifications – NSW TAFE or higher
- Ability to travel, conduct site visits and work at any site within the RBGDT portfolio as directed.
- Current driver’s licence
