About the role

As a Policy Officer, you will prepare policy advice and contribute to reviews and the development of effective policy and legislative and regulatory reforms. You will undertake qualitative and quantitative research and analysis; establish and maintain stakeholder relationships; prepare briefing material; and contribute to the development of environmental water policy.

 

About you

The successful applicant will have experience working on environmental or resource management issues and direct experience with legislation and policy development is highly desirable. You must exhibit strong communication skills and be confident liaising with diverse stakeholder groups at all levels. You will be a strategic thinker and committed to delivering high-quality and timely results. You will be required to build strong relationships across government agencies and bring a collaborative approach to planning and delivering key projects. The ability to work in a team to manage multiple competing priorities whilst delivering within timeframes is essential.

DCCEEW conserves and protects the state’s natural environment. It manages the NSW national park estate, including its rich and diverse biodiversity and Aboriginal cultural heritage for future generations.

DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state, to support the environment, communities and industry.
