About the role
The role of Senior Heritage Officer sits within the State Heritage Register Listing team in Heritage NSW. This team has a diverse skillset and experience from across the heritage sector, working to deliver a robust and representative State Heritage Register. The dynamic role is primarily focused on the assessment of State Heritage Register nominations for the preparation of recommendations to the Heritage Council and Minister for Heritage. The role will also contribute to the delivery of broader programs and will work closely with communities and owners across NSW to understand and promote the significance of items and places.
About You
You will have university qualifications or equivalent experience in the disciplines of history, archaeology or architecture. Your ability to engage effectively with varied stakeholders and negotiate heritage outcomes will be key to your success. You will have proven experience in responding to complex matters and changing priorities in a high workload and sensitive environment. If you love research, critical thinking and tailoring your communication style for diverse audiences you could be a great fit for our team.
Knowledge and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in heritage, archaeology, architecture, or relevant field.
- Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel.
