  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $124,322 to $138,494 + super

 

Our Conservation Programs, Heritage & Regulation team is currently seeking to appoint a part time Senior Project Officer 3 day per week job share opportunity with a team member returning from parental leave.

You will work as part of a small team supporting the Deputy Secretary, Conservation Programs, Heritage and Regulation Group and undertake a range of project research, analysis, reporting, implementation and administrative activities to support the development and delivery of projects, in line with established project plans and objectives.

 

Please note:

  • This is a part-time job share opportunity, ideally suited to someone who is genuinely seeking a part-time opportunity and committed to building a strong, collaborative job share partnership.
  • The role commences from 1 December 2025 and ends on 30 June 2026, aligned with the team member’s return from parental leave.
  • Preference for work days of Wed, Thurs, Fri OR Tues, Wed, Fri

 

About You

You’re a confident and adaptable project professional who thrives in fast-paced environments. You’re comfortable managing short turnaround requests and coordinating input from a wide range of internal stakeholders across topics like WHS, HR, risk, and finance.

You bring strong organisational skills, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You know how to navigate complex government settings, integrate information quickly, and deliver clear, well-structured responses. Your communication style is direct and effective, and you are confident to follow up or clarify expectations when needed.

You’re a clear communicator with strong attention to detail, able to interpret requests and coordinate responses across the Department and the Group. You have excellent written skills and are confident preparing speaking notes, briefing material and written communications for senior leaders.

You provide excellent customer service and are always looking for ways to improve processes, reduce administrative burden, and ensure the executive team feels well supported. You’re motivated by delivering high-quality work that supports strategic priorities, and you bring focus, reliability, and a calm presence under pressure.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Qualifications in project administration and/or extensive experience in relevant field.
