The Climate Change and Sustainability Policy Branch supports the Minister and Executive by leading the development of strategic policy, influencing whole-of-government and national policy formation, and providing policy advice.
About the Role
The Policy and Programs Officer role in the Energy Security Safeguard Policy Team is an exciting opportunity to help deliver a more reliable, affordable and sustainable energy system in NSW.
This critical role will see you managing the development, implementation, monitoring, improvement and evaluation of key policy settings. You will provide policy advice, research and analysis to key stakeholders to develop and implement policy reforms. This will include preparing briefings, reports and discussion papers, as well as participating in meetings and delivering presentations to a range of audiences.
This role is pivotal to ensuring policy and program design is effective, innovative and meets priority objectives to achieve critical state outcomes. The opportunity will allow you to help deliver real change in how we help transform NSW to a more sustainable future.
About You
To be successful in this opportunity, you will ideally have experience in policy development, implementation and evaluation. This role also greatly benefits from an understanding of the machinery of Government and the policy process.
You will also have the ability to achieve assigned project objectives within a high volume and evolving work environment. It will be important to be confident in supporting complex and sensitive consultations with diverse stakeholders, within agreed timelines and varying expectations.
