- Salary relative to experience and ranges from $99,938 to $110,271 + super
There has never been a more exciting time to join Placemaking NSW (incorporating Place Management NSW) as we expand our portfolio to include White Bay Power Station, on top of The Rocks, Circular Quay, Barangaroo and Darling Harbour. Join the team managing Sydney’s most historically and culturally significant venues and waterfront locations. Our vision is to ‘create extraordinary places’ for the millions of customers who visit our precincts each year through the creation and delivery of dynamic experiences and bespoke activations. Working with government agencies, event organisers and stakeholders to bring events and activations to life.
The role
In this role you will act as the key point to proactively generate venue sales and provide high quality sales account management including all licensing and compliance for public sector activity.
Your expertise will help maximize commercial revenue by identifying opportunities for events and cross-selling services, all while ensuring compliance with PMNSW’s guidelines. You'll play a key role in guiding clients through the event planning process, from selecting the right venue to liaising with our Event Delivery team to meet their needs.
Navigating the complexities of balancing commercial interests with community needs is a key part of your day-to-day. You'll maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and deliver top-notch customer service, ensuring every event runs smoothly. Staying updated with the latest industry knowledge and managing the administrative side of account management will be essential to your success in this dynamic role.

What you will bring to the role
- Proven experience in venue and event management, with a solid understanding of the intricacies of coordinating and delivering successful events.
- Client relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Familiarity with both private and government sectors, with a preference for those who understand government processes and the management of public spaces.
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, internal teams, and external partners, ensuring all requirements are met to the highest standards.
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive sales/event professional to join the team that lead the planning, implementation and delivery of events, activations and projects across Sydney’s most iconic and vibrant cultural, leisure, hospitality and retail precincts, Barangaroo, The Rocks, Darling Harbour and White Bay Power Station.

About us
Placemaking NSW is responsible for managing and caring for some of Sydney’s most iconic harbourside venues and locations, including The Rocks, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour and White Bay Power Station. We also lead the planning and delivery of the Bays West Urban Renewal Precinct, a state significant project that will bring new homes, jobs, and public spaces to 77 hectares of government-owned land just 2 kilometers from Sydney's CBD.
