Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for financial performance and business improvement? Join the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) and play a key role in supporting the Water Group’s mission to deliver sustainable water management across the state.
As a Senior Business Advisor, you’ll be part of the Corporate & Enabling Services team, providing high-level financial and business advisory services to senior leaders. From budgeting and forecasting to capital planning and involvement in business case development, your insights will help drive informed decision-making and improve outcomes for communities and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert financial analysis, reporting and advice to support strategic planning and performance.
- Lead the development of divisional budgets, forecasts and accurate financial reporting for informed decision making.
- Partner with executives to support business case development, risk planning and funding proposals.
- Drive process improvements and contribute to a culture of accountability and innovation.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in finance business partnering, budgeting, and management reporting, along with a strong understanding of accounting principles, government finance frameworks, and Australian Accounting Standards. Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environment, exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as is the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights. A relevant tertiary qualification in accounting or business is required, with CPA or CA membership highly desirable.
