The Planning Land Use Strategy, Housing and Infrastructure (PLUSHI) team are the driving force behind the Department's strategic planning, policy, rezoning, and infrastructure projects, all aimed at making New South Wales a better place to live.
The role
The Senior GIS Lead in our team is responsible for supervising and implementing GIS and spatial services in support of the statutory planning functions of DPHI, ensuring the Department develops and maintains a best-practice, high quality approach to GIS and spatial information management in relation to its activities and linkages with other Government agencies and stakeholders.
About you
Leading a team of spatial analysts, you will provide specialist expertise on the production and review of statutory planning datasets and the delivery of high- quality maps as dictated by corporate standards. You will implement planning datasets management practices in line with spatial data life cycle principles, prioritise GIS activities, manage data requests, and oversee GIS deliverables reporting to management as required.
Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, you will identify business improvement opportunities, support planning reforms and programs, implement GIS solutions and provide specialist expertise on the production and review of statutory planning datasets and management of planning spatial layers.
You will bring demonstrated experience in the management, manipulation, analysis and presentation of spatial data, experience in maintenance of spatial services, including analysis and troubleshooting of issues in a high-pressure environment and demonstrated proficiency in these tools/software or similar - ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, FME, Python
- Tertiary qualifications in GIS or spatial science and/or equivalent professional experience is essential.
