  • Ongoing full-time opportunity – role likely to commence from 1 February 2026
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $94,423 to $105,016 + super
  • Based in Parramatta – 4 Parramatta Square

You’re a developing policy professional with a solid foundation in research, analysis, and written communication. You’re curious, proactive, and committed to learning, with a growing understanding of government priorities and stakeholder engagement. You’re confident working in a team environment and keen to contribute to policy initiatives that make a difference for communities across NSW. You’re ready to build on your experience and take the next step in your policy career.

 

About the Role

As an Assistant Policy Officer, you will contribute to the development, implementation, and review of policy initiatives that support government objectives. You’ll prepare briefing notes, reports, and correspondence, and undertake research and analysis to support evidence-based decision-making. You’ll engage with stakeholders to gather insights and contribute to collaborative problem-solving. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your policy expertise, work on meaningful projects, and develop your skills in a supportive and fast-paced team environment.

DCCEEW conserves and protects the state’s natural environment. It manages the NSW national park estate, including its rich and diverse biodiversity and Aboriginal cultural heritage for future generations.

DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state, to support the environment, communities and industry.
