  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $113,574.00 to $125,720.00 plus super (pro rata)

The role

As a Role Design and Evaluation Advisor in our People & Culture team, you will work closely with People Partners and stakeholders to shape clear, consistent, and accurate role descriptions that reflect the needs of the Department. You’ll be part of a team that knows job evaluation inside out, offering expert advice on grading, capability frameworks, and methodology to ensure roles are aligned across the cluster. Whether it’s supporting restructures, updating resources, or maintaining evaluation records, your work helps keep everything running smoothly and transparently.

 

This is a fast-paced, high-volume role that suits someone who’s highly organised, detail-focused, and confident making day-to-day decisions independently. You will be challenged with juggling competing priorities while keeping stakeholders engaged and informed - especially when workloads spike. You’ll need to build strong relationships, communicate clearly, and apply rigorous job design practices to deliver outcomes that are fair, defensible, and aligned with sector standards.

What you will bring to the role

  • Experience in role design and evaluation, applying a recognised evaluation methodology. 
  • A working knowledge of sector role design / role description requirements. 
  • Understanding of Government awards and application and interpretation. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members. 
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges and adapt to evolving situations. 
  • Proven leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve shared goals. 
  • Solid time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently. 
  • Enjoys autonomy and demonstrates proficiency in working independently, taking initiative, and making decisions. 
  • Maintains meticulous attention to detail amidst high-volume workloads, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks and deliverables.
