The role
Are you a friendly, proactive all-rounder who enjoys making things run smoothly? As our Business Services Officer, you’ll be the welcoming face of Placemaking NSW—greeting guests, supporting staff, and keeping the office humming. From reception duties and coordinating meetings to streamlining systems and spotting ways to improve day-to-day operations, you’ll play a key role in creating a positive and efficient workplace.
This is a varied role that suits someone who’s organised, approachable, and confident communicating with people at all levels. You’ll be trusted to manage office supplies, liaise with service providers, and write clear, professional emails to staff and respond to enquiries from members of the public. If you’re someone who notices what needs doing and gets it done, we’d love to hear from you.

 Business Services Officer
What you will bring to the role 
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly, professional presence
 
- Proactive mindset with a knack for spotting opportunities to improve office systems and processes
 
- Excellent written communication skills, including drafting emails to staff
 
- Experience in business support and office administration
 
- Confidence using MS Office (especially Word and Excel) and coordinating meetings and records
 
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
 
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support others across the business
 
About us
Placemaking NSW is responsible for managing and caring for some of Sydney’s most iconic harbourside venues and locations, including The Rocks, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour and White Bay Power Station. We also lead the planning and delivery of the Bays West Urban Renewal Precinct, a state significant project that will bring new homes, jobs, and public spaces to 77 hectares of government-owned land just 2 kilometres from Sydney's CBD.
