  • Senior Project Officer – Natural Capital Markets & Accounts
  • Temporary (Up to 30 June 2026) full-time (35 hours per week) opportunity
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $124,322 to $138,494 + super

 

Our Natural Capital Markets & Accounts team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Project Officer. In this role you will be working closely with the Natural Capital Markets & Accounts’ (NCMA) economists, econometric data scientists, and managers and deliver expert advice and services to design and build data solutions that support the creation and maintenance of natural capital accounts and market tools to enable better, faster, data-informed decision making for our stakeholder.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the operational and strategic requirements for the successful delivery of programs in the context of current policy and legislative frameworks.
  • Have experience in designing and building data services, manipulating data and using data visualisation technologies with on natural capital accounts.

 About the role

This role involves acting as a trusted partner, collaborating with various stakeholders to co-design complex data systems to ensure they effectively meet user needs. You will apply agile principles to design, develop, and implement new processes and applications for comprehensive data manipulation, collection, analysis, and visualisation. A core responsibility is leading the establishment and maintenance of the highest level of development best practices, encompassing technical design, solution development, systems configuration, testing (documentation/execution), issue resolution, and writing clean, modular, and predictable code. Finally, the role requires you to translate complex technical information into simple, accessible language for non-technical audiences, facilitating productive discussions with diverse senior stakeholders.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience.
