About the role
The Business Analyst plays an integral role in streamlining and enhancing the end-to-end experience of customers of Office of Sport NSW centres and venues. As part of a broader program, this role will need to collaborate with a wide range of subject matter experts, customers and stakeholders to gather, document and analyse requirements specific to current and future state customer data, processes and applications and translate these into specifications as required. Operating in the context of an environment of diverse stakeholder needs and expectations, the Business Analyst will be required to facilitate workshops, map end to end user / customer journeys, identify pain points, and recommend process, data and technology improvements for potential future investment by the Office of Sport NSW.
It’s a hands-on role where you’ll need to champion innovation, continuous improvement and leverage data insights to deliver smarter and sustainable customer-focused outcomes and solutions.
The role champions a “Customer First” mindset, driving innovation, simplification, and increased customer satisfaction through strategic analysis, stakeholder engagement and fit for purpose solution designs.
Note: This role requires travel to other metropolitan and regional Office of Sport locations across NSW.

About you
Our ideal candidate will bring to the role:
- 4+ years’ of relevant experience in an equivalent business analysis role, operating in the context of a customer centric service delivery environment.
- Proven research, analytical and requirements gathering, translation and documentation skills.
- Ability to provide expert advice on possible process, data, service and technology improvements, opportunities and innovations to help inform solution design, application specifications and strategic investment decision making.
- Familiarity with agile / hybrid / waterfall project delivery methodologies, deliverables, tools and practices.
- Experience with using design thinking techniques such as customer / system user journey mapping.
- Superior communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills and the Ability to quickly acquire a solid understanding of the business and its drivers and priorities.
- Prior experience developing and leveraging trusted relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts to achieve positive service delivery and solution design outcomes.
- An innovative mindset and an ability to persuade stakeholders to similarly think ‘outside of the box’.
