  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $129,464 up to $142,665 pa plus superannuation

 

The Energy Infrastructure Division is seeking an experienced energy sector professional to join the Gas and Fuel Security team as a Senior Project and Policy Officer. This role applies policy expertise, project delivery skills and sector knowledge to support initiatives critical to NSW’s energy security and transition.

Reporting to the Manager, Gas and Fuel Security, you will support a complex portfolio of gas and fuel security projects and policy reforms, providing high-quality regulatory, commercial and strategic advice to Ministers and senior executives on gas supply, infrastructure development and government policy and actions.

As a senior team member, you will support the delivery of priority work, guide junior staff, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve policy outcomes and Government commitments.

About You

You have a strong interest in public policy and government decision-making, and enjoy navigating complex policy, legislative, regulatory and stakeholder environments.

You bring well-developed analytical skills and sound judgement, with the ability to progress complex policy work in a fast-paced government setting, balancing competing priorities and risks. You work collaboratively across teams and agencies, communicate clearly in written and verbal briefings, and support team outcomes by sharing knowledge and providing guidance to colleagues.

A strong understanding of government systems, legislative processes, policy frameworks and public sector governance will be highly regarded.

Essential Requirements

  • A degree in a relevant discipline.
